One of the common recommendations for writers is to make certain that your characters are more than "Humans with Fur". From the clothing that your characters wear to the technology they use, Aaron Blackpaw, design engineer by day and writer by night, explores how technology and society would be different for denizens of our stories. And perhaps how that difference can be used to further the story we want to tell while still not leaving the reader in the cold.

I'm an Rocket Scientist by degree and trade as well as firefighter and EMT in the evenings and weekends. I write for fun in the fandom, eventually planning to publish in mainstream fiction. My primary tale is a mystery/Thriller based in a world where mythology is real. | | I'll be speaking on Mystery writing specifically and giving some quick thoughts and pitfalls.
